Dr. Irine Darchia
Dr. Irine Darchia is an Associate Professor in Classics since 1996, Deputy Head of the Institute of Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and Higher Education Expert.
Since 2005 Dr. Irine Darchia has served as a Head of Quality Assurance Service and Vice-Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University/TSU, Higher Education Reform Expert (HERE) of Tempus/National Erasmus Office (2009-2021), Rector’s Adviser at National Defence Academy, Tbilisi State University, University of Georgia and St. Andrew Georgian University, Vice-Rector of East European University, Member of Accreditation Council of Georgia (2008-2009), Head of Higher Education and Science Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
Nowadays Dr. Irine Darchia is an Authorization and Accreditation expert at NCEQE (Georgia), SKVC (Lithuania), AIKA (Latvia), SQAA/NAKVIS (Slovenia), an Appeal Committee Member at MFHEA (Malta), a Member of International Advisory Board of NAQA (Ukraine).
Dr. Irine Darchia’s fields of expertise are: Quality Assurance, Curricula Development, Doctoral Studies, Lifelong Learning/Continuous Education. Dr. Irine Darchia has developed Guideline: “Lifelong Learning at HEI-s”, recommendations to the HEI-s, MES, NCEQE for development of doctoral education, reader and recommendations on quality assurance mechanisms and procedures in the context of NQF, studies on external and internal quality assurance, doctoral education etc. She participated in development of different national strategies and regulatory documents. Dr. Irine Darchia has coordinated the Tempus Project SSRULLI, has participated in numerous Tempus/Erasmus+ Capacity Building Projects and since 2020 she is a Lead Expert of Erasmus+ Projects “PROFFORMANCE+, coordinated by the Ministry of Innovation and Culture of Hungary and Expert in “Bologna Hub Peer Support”, coordinated by DAAD (Germany).
